It’s part of the city’s More Color More Pride campaign, which strives to create an even more inclusive community.
Last week, the city unveiled a redesigned Pride flag that revealed the addition of black and brown stripes to the rainbow, in recognition of LGBTQ people of color. And while the unofficial holiday is a nod to the the Stars and Stripes flag from 1777, created right here in Philadelphia, it’s fitting that the city has also celebrated the recent unveiling of another iconic flag.
